Two years after the first part of Összhang we started to think of continuing it. The idea quickly gained the support of many, which then started a nearly two year filming process.
„I took a sniff at the misty morning air and almost smelled the scent of skating. This pumped up my pulse and my brain was swarming the thoughts on new tricks along with how to carry them out.”
Our goal with this film is to introduce the best skaters of Hungary to everybody - nationwide and worldwide. However it must be mentioned that not only Hungarian skaters took part in this as Mihai Militaru from Romania also joined us during the filming of Összhang II.
„We got in total harmony with the asphalt, the handrails and curbs. After each successful trick the movement and the feeling could not be taken from us anymore.”
We made Összhang II by using our own resources only, with no other financial support. The film can be downloaded for free, exclusively from our website: www.osszhang2.hu which can be accessed from anywhere all over the world.
„Distance never caused any problem for us because we all felt the same and in the same way and this became the part of our mind and identity for ever. Travelling literally became a really important pillar of my mental development. If it was not like this, I might be less tolerant, but I know for sure that with my little geographical knowledge I would have no idea about the cities of the surrounding countries and I would be totally lost in the Carpathian Basin.”
Összhang II does not actually follow or show the general change of style, which can be experienced these days within the rolling society. Our aim with this to keep the close connection between hip-hop and skating. During the selection of the different tracks for the film, the most important thing for us was the mood of those songs, so we focused on that, rather than on the lyrics.
„Time has changed since, new trends, directions, styles and motives showed up, so the old feeling in us slowly but surely becomes nostalgic...”
We would like to thank all who appeared in the film and greatly contributed to it with their knowledge and enthusiasm. Special thanks to Mili for travelling a lot and for the footage he made in Bucharest. Thanks to all the photographers with whom we could create the picture gallery of Összhang II, to Káré András for creating the website, thanks to my brother, Melnyikov Zsolt for translating the philosophy, to www.inlineskate.hu for the co-operation, and last but not least thanks to everybody who participated in the making of this film by any means.
„To be in an unknown city in a summer night with many other skaters and a couple of liters of beer, tired after a whole day spent with rolling creates a very unique chemical mixture that only a few can experience. What is it like to be a skater here in the Carpathian Basin, what is the Hungarian skater like, and what do we really know? Well you will get the answers to these questions now.”
